Yoga & Yeshua IG Live Series

Assume a posture of humility & curiosity and listen as Danielle shares lessons learned over the past 20 years as a yoga practitioner, instructor, and follower of Yeshua (Jesus).

Her hope is that this series would serve you well as you discern whether or not yoga is a practice you can incorporate into your own wellness rhythms.

Did Jesus practice yoga?

“Did Jesus practice yoga?”
“Christians can’t practice yoga.”
“The postures open you up to powers.”
“Going to a yoga studio as a believer is like going to a house of worship of a different religion.”

These are common statements I hear in conversations about Christians and yoga.

I don’t know if you’ve heard any of them, or if you have questions and concerns about how or if you can incorporate yoga into your practice.

To those with questions and concerns, this Yoga & Yeshua series is for you.

Today we covered the second half of the 8 limbs of yoga. I pray this video serves you well as you consider if and how to incorporate yoga into your wellness practices, or that it educates you on your yoga journey.

If you have questions or suggestions for future topics, send them my way!!

Today I share some of my own experiences that used to confuse me or weird me out in yoga classes. These things pushed me further into questioning and learning so that I could land on a practice that was comfortable for me.

I hope you will do the same, and with curiosity, humility and a willingness to learn, decide on how this practice can be comfortable for you.

Today I share how I use yoga in my personal times of quiet with the Lord. Yoga can help us practice the silence and solitude that helps us be still and know that God is God. Through breath and mediation practices we can commune with God at a profound level and experience the truth that we are Mt. Zion, God’s holy dwelling place (Psalm 125:1).

What practices serve you well as you enter into the quiet place?

Today I began an overview of the 8 limbs of yoga. I invite you once again to bring your posture of curiosity, humility, and a willingness to learn. May this short overview serve you well as you consider if yoga is a practice you’d like to incorporate into your rhythms.
